Mariel's Top 10 Tips!
1. Brush your teeth at 8:30, it gives you an extra reason not to eat anymore.
2. After you get the food on your plate in small portions, put the rest away before you eat. This really helps with portion control. It helps you avoid taking another helping or just a little more!
3. I always keep a can of cashews, almonds, or sunflower seeds in the console of my car. I also like to have a box of Target's Archer Farms Fruit Leather (the best) in my car. This saves me from needing fast food while driving!
4. Take your water bottle with you EVERYWHERE!
5. Put a bowl inside your refrigerator and fill it will sugar free jell-o, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free applesauce, string cheese, and yogurt. It's a quick place to grab a snack.
6. If you want to lose extra weight, cut out the carbs! Mainly breads, pasta, and rice. Or, at least be mindful of how much of it you eat.
7. Salty Snacks - Veggie Crisps, Pirate's Booty (be sure to take your portion and put the rest away BEFORE you start eating)
8. Sweet Snacks - Sugar-Free candies (don't eat too many, they give you gas!...and still have some calories), Fruit, sugar-free jell-o, sugar-free pudding.
9. Get an exercise partner or sign up for a class. It helps to have the feelings of obligation.
10. Frequently notice how much better you feel when you are living a healthy lifestyle. Know that you can splurge on Sundays and that you can wait until then. Be in control of your body!

Good Job to EVERYONE! So impressive!
This week was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I really had fun taking stock of what was in my pantry, getting rid of the bad stuff and replacing it with better choices. I don't think the diet will be the hardest part- now that school is out, I think it will be getting the workouts in.
The competition is TOUGH!
