I second that! I had been craving pancakes with REAL homemade syrup all week because I just couldn't do the fake stuff. So Sunday morning banana oatmeal pancakes were extra delicious! We'll have to try the pure stuff.
Thanks for the tip Natalie. It's too pricy for me, well at least I saw it at Sam's for $15 for a little jar. Is there a better place to get it, or is that about right? Maybe as long as the kids know they don't get to touch it, I just may get to pamper myself with some. haha

Mariel's Top 10 Tips!
1. Brush your teeth at 8:30, it gives you an extra reason not to eat anymore.
2. After you get the food on your plate in small portions, put the rest away before you eat. This really helps with portion control. It helps you avoid taking another helping or just a little more!
3. I always keep a can of cashews, almonds, or sunflower seeds in the console of my car. I also like to have a box of Target's Archer Farms Fruit Leather (the best) in my car. This saves me from needing fast food while driving!
4. Take your water bottle with you EVERYWHERE!
5. Put a bowl inside your refrigerator and fill it will sugar free jell-o, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free applesauce, string cheese, and yogurt. It's a quick place to grab a snack.
6. If you want to lose extra weight, cut out the carbs! Mainly breads, pasta, and rice. Or, at least be mindful of how much of it you eat.
7. Salty Snacks - Veggie Crisps, Pirate's Booty (be sure to take your portion and put the rest away BEFORE you start eating)
8. Sweet Snacks - Sugar-Free candies (don't eat too many, they give you gas!...and still have some calories), Fruit, sugar-free jell-o, sugar-free pudding.
9. Get an exercise partner or sign up for a class. It helps to have the feelings of obligation.
10. Frequently notice how much better you feel when you are living a healthy lifestyle. Know that you can splurge on Sundays and that you can wait until then. Be in control of your body!

Get pure maple syrup! It is SOOO good. A little pricey, but you don't use very much. I will never go back to the fake stuff. :)

I agree! I've tried it too! I even bought this really expensive stuff online that claimed to taste just the same.....it didn't. I threw it out!
